Van Cliburn Competition Finalists
Between May 22 and June 7 the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition will again be held. It occurs every four years, and were selected from among 151 pianists who auditioned worldwide. The pianists, are from Australia, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Russia, Ukraine and the U.S. For the first time in the history of the competition a young man from Japan that's blind will compete. Here is a link to an article discussing the Contemporary commissioned works announced that the competitors will have to perform. Twelve sei-finalists will be performing these works.
