Frederic Chopin
Frederic Chopin was born on March 1, 1810, taking music lessons before starting at the Conservatory. Public acclaim increased between 1829-30 when he gave concerts in Vienna and Warsaw, and he moved to Paris in 1831. There, he established himself as a private teacher, but was struggling with tuberculosis. Of his romantic affairs, the most talked about was that with George Sand, an author. Between 1838 and 1847, he composed much of his best music. Chopin died on October 17, 1849. His funeral was attended by nearly 3,000 people.
